What are the symptoms of gallstones?

In fact, many times when gallstones occur, there are no obvious symptoms in the early stages, so it is difficult to detect them in time. It is recommended to go to a large hospital for examination in time when you have any discomfort. The most common symptoms are upper abdominal pain or mild jaundice.

1. Under normal circumstances, if people do not have symptoms such as pain in their bodies, they generally feel that they are healthy. But this is an obvious misunderstanding, especially for patients with asymptomatic gallstones. Experts say that asymptomatic stones can be dangerous if allowed to develop. Long-term stimulation of the gallbladder by stones can easily cause symptoms such as gallbladder wall damage and inflammation, biliary colic, and gallbladder necrosis.

3. Symptoms similar to those of acute cholangitis, with possible mild jaundice. If the condition is more serious, symptoms such as pain, chills, fever, low blood pressure, and even infectious shock or unconsciousness may occur. Even if the acute inflammation has been controlled, there will still be varying degrees of pain in the liver area, some of which may radiate to the back and shoulders.

4. Dull pain in the right upper abdomen, occasional irregular fever, mild to moderate jaundice, indigestion and other symptoms. Acute cholangitis, biliary colic and obstructive jaundice are manifestations of the gallbladder.

5. During the non-acute period of gallstones, most patients have no obvious symptoms. A small number of patients may experience pain or liver enlargement when tapping the liver area.

6. After being diagnosed with gallstones, many patients think that it is better to keep the gallbladder than to lose it, so they do not take active treatment. They decide to have surgery only when the stones attack becomes unbearable. At this time, they learn that the gallbladder has lost its function due to long-term delay in treatment, and finally have to have the gallbladder removed regretfully. This is because gallstones have long stimulated the gallbladder, resulting in impaired gallbladder function.
