What to do if the vitreous body of the eye is cloudy? The treatment method is like this

Vitreous opacities are an eye disease with a relatively high incidence rate among the elderly population over 60 years old. It has a great impact on people’s normal life. So what should you do after suffering from vitreous opacities? This question has always been the topic that many elderly people want to know most. In fact, there are many ways to treat vitreous opacities. First, a detailed examination must be done to find the cause before targeted treatment can be given.

1. What to do if vitreous opacities occur?

There are many treatments for vitreous opacities, including surgery, medication, physical therapy, etc. First of all, for drug treatment, we should check and treat the cause. If it is inflammatory, the pathogen should be treated, and local or systemic corticosteroids should be added when necessary. If it is hemorrhagic, vitamin K, hemostatics, anloxue, coagulants, coagulants, hemostatic aromatic acids and hemostatic traditional Chinese medicines should be used to stop bleeding.

Physical therapy is also a relatively long-term treatment method. Ultrashort wave, ultrasound and sodium iodide iontophoresis have long been used. Laser treatment has been used in recent years and has been effective in some cases, but it is necessary to have a good understanding of the indications and make further observations, and it should be avoided on fresh bleeding lesions.

Surgical treatment. For those who have been suffering from leukoplakia for a long time and are relatively thick, and cannot be absorbed by medical treatment, especially those who have formed an organized membrane that tends to pull on the retina, surgical treatment should be considered in time. However, for those whose condition is unstable and prone to rebleeding, such as diabetes, vitrectomy should be performed.

Vitrectomy is a new type of ophthalmic microsurgery. Its basic function is to remove the cloudy vitreous or vitreoretinal traction, restore the transparent refractive medium and promote retinal reattachment, treat vitreoretinal diseases, and restore the patient's visual function.

2. Treatment Principles

Actively treat the primary disease, such as controlling inflammation and using laser or drugs to treat retinal hemorrhagic diseases. Vitrectomy may be performed for patients with more severe opacity, longer disease course, and fibroproliferative changes.

Cure standard: For those caused by inflammation or bleeding, the primary lesion has been controlled. The turbidity was basically absorbed, the symptoms disappeared, and the vision improved. For patients with severe opacities who underwent vitrectomy, the wound healed, the opacities were basically eliminated, and vision improved.

Improvement criteria: partial absorption of turbidity and slight or no improvement in vision. For patients with severe opacities who underwent vitrectomy, the opacities were mostly cleared and vision was slightly or not improved.

The above is our brief introduction to vitreous opacities. If you feel any discomfort in important, sensitive and fragile organs such as your eyes, do not blindly go to the pharmacy to get medicine at will. It is best to go to a regular hospital to seek regular professional treatment.
