What to eat for bladder cancer

Bladder cancer patients are advised to eat more fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and crude fiber foods. Excessive intake of sodium and protein should be controlled. Appropriate protein supplementation is good for the human body. For patients with bladder cancer, it is recommended to control the intake of foods with high nitrite content, such as various over-smoked foods, which are not very good for the body. Bladder cancer patients are advised to pay attention to the comprehensive balance of dietary nutrition and not to consume too much of a single food. Bladder cancer surgery should be followed by infusion therapy. During the infusion period, attention must be paid to whether there is bleeding again. If bleeding occurs again, it must be reviewed in time to see if bladder cancer has recurred.

Advanced Bladder Cancer Symptoms

The earliest symptoms of bladder cancer are hematuria and then pain. When symptoms appear, further B-ultrasound and other imaging examinations and cystoscopy are required. In the late stage, bladder cancer manifests itself in the following aspects:

1. Local manifestations in the bladder: Some patients with advanced bladder cancer undergo B-ultrasound examinations when they seek medical treatment, which show that the bladder is full of tumors, with almost no normal gaps and urine storage space. Patients will inevitably experience frequent urination, urgency and urination difficulties;

2. Bleeding. Patients with advanced bladder cancer are prone to bleeding due to the accumulation of a large amount of cancerous tissue in the bladder. Hematuria and obstructive bladder tamponade, which is a large amount of blood clots blocking the bladder and causing inflammation and dysuria, are common. Patients with advanced bladder cancer will bleed frequently and heavily, and even their hemoglobin level may be lower than 80g/L, showing anemia. Clinically, patients with severe bladder cancer have low hemoglobin and pale complexion, which is a local manifestation of bladder cancer.

3. Bladder cancer is prone to metastasize to other organs such as the liver, bones and other parts. Different symptoms will occur depending on the metastatic site. For example, patients with bone metastasis will experience bone pain and pathological fractures; liver metastasis will damage liver function; kidney metastasis or lung and brain metastasis can also show corresponding symptoms. Finally, the patient will suffer from severe systemic failure.

TNM staging criteria for bladder cancer

T4 stage tumors have invaded surrounding adjacent organs, such as the rectum, male prostate, female uterus, etc., and some have spread to distant organs, such as bones to form bone metastasis. The specific situation still needs to be communicated with the doctor face to face. The staging of bladder cancer is generally divided into five stages: TA stage tumors are limited to the bladder mucosa; T3 stage tumors invade the entire layer of the bladder wall and often spread to the outside of the bladder; T2 stage tumors invade the basement of the bladder;
