Can optic atrophy be reversed?

The problem of optic nerve atrophy cannot be ignored, and some people are born with congenital optic nerve atrophy, so it is affected by genetic factors. Therefore, we need to understand the correct treatment and recovery methods and adopt a combination of Chinese and Western treatment methods.

1. Some people's optic nerves do not develop normally when they are born, and they suffer from "congenital" optic atrophy. Some people suffer from optic neuropathy because of their family history.

2. Other causes of optic nerve atrophy include: optic nerve inflammation, optic nerve circulation disorders, glaucoma, optic nerve poisoning, vitamin deficiency, optic nerve tumors, and brain tumors compressing the optic nerve. However, in most cases no real cause can be found.

3. Can optic atrophy be cured? Optic atrophy refers to the loss of part or all of the nerve fibers of the optic nerve. If all optic nerve fibers are lost, vision will be completely lost, and even if medical treatment becomes more advanced, it is likely that there will be no way to save the situation.

4. If the optic nerve is partially atrophied, there may still be a chance to preserve the "still good" optic nerve fibers. Whether it is "curable" depends on the cause of the optic nerve atrophy.

5. Combination of Chinese and Western medicine treatment is the integration of Western medicine's high-tech examination and treatment methods with Chinese medicine's syndrome differentiation theory. In terms of diagnosis, we use advanced scientific examination methods such as visual acuity, visual field, fundus fluorescein angiography, electrophysiological examination, etc. to fully understand the patient's fundus condition. We use the world's leading YAG fundus laser machine and advanced treatment methods such as photodynamic therapy (PDT) and pupillary thermotherapy (TTT). We can block choroidal neovascularization, inhibit blood vessel growth, and preserve the retinal structure well. The vision of some patients can be improved, and some patients can avoid serious vision loss.

6. Combining the TCM theory of promoting blood circulation of "stopping, eliminating, calming and replenishing", we treat the disease based on syndrome differentiation and use drugs that promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis to promote absorption, inhibit cell apoptosis, improve microcirculation, promote blood supply, prevent the development and evolution of the disease, effectively restore the function of some nerve fibers, protect or improve visual function, preserve patients' vision, and improve the quality of life of patients with fundus diseases.
