What is gastric hyperplasia?

There are many types of stomach diseases. Different types of stomach diseases usually have different symptoms, causes and treatments. Gastric hyperplasia is a common stomach disease. There are many causes of gastric hyperplasia. Gastric hyperplasia is actually what we often call gastric polyps. If you suffer from gastric hyperplasia, you need to undergo relevant examinations and treatments in time. In order to prevent the disease from worsening, the earlier the treatment, the better.

What is gastric hyperplasia?

Gastric hyperplasia is divided into two categories. One is called hyperplastic polyp, also called inflammatory polyp or regenerative polyp. It is a type of glandular hyperplasia and elongation with a relatively disordered arrangement. There are large gaps between the glands, and some contain immature cells in the middle. The vast majority of them do not have atypical hyperplasia, and the cancer rate is only 0.4%.

The other type is called adenomatous polyps, which are composed of densely arranged, crowded, and hyperplastic glandular tissue. With different degrees of atypical hyperplasia, the canceration rate can reach 10% and 30%. It is called precancerous lesions. You must pay more attention to dietary adjustments in your daily life. You should pay attention to a light diet and avoid eating raw, cold, greasy, spicy, and irritating foods. You should avoid smoking, alcohol, strong tea, coffee, carbonated drinks, etc.

How to treat gastric hyperplasia

1. Endoscopic treatment

Endoscopic resection is the preferred method for treating gastric polyps, and the main methods include high-frequency electrocoagulation resection, laser and microwave ablation, nylon ligation and argon plasma coagulation. Endoscopic treatment of polyps is simple, less invasive, and low-cost. Most cases are one-time treatments, while a few require multiple removals. Regular endoscopic follow-up can also detect polyp recurrence and provide timely treatment to prevent cancer.

2. Laser method

The high-energy laser generated by the laser is used to irradiate the lesion site through the optical fiber introduced into the endoscopic biopsy hole. The heat energy converted from light energy causes the tissue protein to coagulate, denature and destroy it, thereby achieving the treatment goal.

3. Nylon thread and rubber band ligation method

The treatment goal is achieved by ligating the root of the polyp, causing ischemia and necrosis. Pathological examination confirmed that after treatment, the muscular layer of the ligated area was intact, and only local ischemic necrosis occurred in the mucosa and submucosal layers. Within 1 to 4 days after ligation, the local mucosa undergoes an acute inflammatory reaction, granulation tissue proliferates and necrotic tissue falls off to form a superficial ulcer, which is gradually replaced by scar tissue and heals, so it has the advantage of avoiding perforation.
