How to treat chlamydia positive and what issues should be paid attention to

Chlamydia is a microbial pathogen that is dangerous to the human body and can cause viral infection in the body, endangering life and health. Therefore, Chlamydia is something that everyone is afraid of. There are many people in life who suffer from Chlamydia virus. Usually, a positive Chlamydia test is used as an indicator of infection. So, how to treat positive Chlamydia and what issues should be paid attention to?

Chlamydia is resistant to drugs that act on the cell wall, such as penicillins, vancomycin, and bacitracin, and is sensitive to drugs that inhibit the synthesis of membrane and cytoplasmic proteins, such as tetracycline and erythromycin.

Treatment plan: First, tetracycline, tetracycline 500 mg 4 times a day for 7 consecutive days, or doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 7 consecutive days. For patients who are contraindicated with tetracycline or have poor tolerance, a solution containing PHMB bactericidal ingredients can be used twice a day for 7 consecutive days.

In addition, quinolones, a new drug developed in recent years and widely used for infectious diseases in various fields, have good clinical effects in the treatment of chlamydia. Among them, the commonly used drugs include ofloxacin (OFIX), ciprofloxacin (CPFX), lomefloxacin, and rifampicin, which also have good therapeutic effects.

Issues that should be noted during treatment:

(1) Tetracyclines are teratogenic to pregnant women and should not be used.

(2) Based on current clinical observations, quinolones are better than tetracyclines because most patients have gonococcal or other co-infections.

(3) The appropriate treatment duration is 2-3 weeks. The reproduction cycle of Chlamydia is 48-72 hours. It parasitizes inside cells, and the concentration of drugs penetrating into cells is generally low. Therefore, the treatment time needs to be longer.

(4) Men and women who are infected but have no symptoms or mild symptoms can be considered carriers and should receive regular treatment. The patient's sexual partners should be treated simultaneously.

(5) Combination medication: tetracyclines + lotion + quinolones.
