The taste of seafood can conquer most people's taste buds, because the delicious taste of seafood can make people experience the feeling of the sea. There are many types of seafood, among which sea cucumber is a relatively famous seafood product. Sea cucumber has high nutritional value and is an excellent ingredient for nourishing the body. Sea cucumbers are soft in shape and are mostly preserved in a dried form. Therefore, soaking sea cucumbers is a key step. So, how do ordinary families soak dried sea cucumbers?

Sea cucumbers are marine echinoderms that live at sea depths up to 8,000 meters. They have a history of more than 600 million years. Sea cucumbers feed on seabed algae and plankton. Sea cucumbers are covered with fleshy spines and are widely distributed in oceans around the world. There are many species along the coast of the South China Sea in my country, with about twenty kinds of edible sea cucumbers. Sea cucumbers are as famous as ginseng, bird's nests and shark fins, and are one of the eight treasures of the world. Sea cucumber is not only a precious food, but also a valuable medicinal material.

Steps for soaking dried sea cucumber:

1. Take a clean, oil-free container, preferably one with a lid, pour in an appropriate amount of pure water, rinse off the dust on the surface of the sea cucumber with clean water, and soak it in water for 24-48 hours until it becomes soft. Place in the refrigerator and change the water every 8 hours.

2. There is a natural crack in the middle of the sea cucumber's abdomen. Cut it up and down along this crack. The round protruding part on the top is the sea cucumber's anus. Clean it together. Take out the internal tendons and sand mouth, and clean the impurities in the sea cucumber's belly.

3. Take a clean, oil-free pot, fill it half with pure water, and put the washed sea cucumber in. Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer for 20 minutes over low heat. Turn off the heat and let it cool naturally. (If there are still hard sea cucumbers, keep them in the pot and cook them again with new purified water until they are all softened.)

4. Put the cooked sea cucumber into a clean, oil-free container, add pure water to cover the sea cucumber, then put it in the refrigerator and soak it for 48-72 hours. Change the water once a day and it is ready to eat.
