Subcutaneous fungal infection

Subcutaneous fungal infection

Many people are very concerned about some changes in their bodies in their lives. First of all, the most common one is the real infection, which may appear in different parts of the body. Most of the subcutaneous fungal infections are contagious. Therefore, after the fungal infection, we must pay attention to the patient's clothes, quilts, and personal items used. They should be washed and placed separately, and should not be put together with family members or frequently cross-eaten.

1. Superficial fungal diseases The infection is confined to the outermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, with little or no tissue reaction, and when the hair is infected, only the surface of the hair is affected, with little damage to the hair. Mainly include: tinea versicolor, tinea palmaris and trichophytosis.

(B) Skin fungal diseases. The infection affects the stratum corneum and skin appendages, such as hair and nail plate, which can extensively damage the structure of these tissues and is accompanied by varying degrees of host immune response; the most common fungal infection of this type is dermatophytosis, and other fungal infections include cutaneous candidiasis, etc. Dermatophytes can be divided into various types of tinea pedis (commonly known as "athlete's foot"), tinea manuum, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea onychosum and tinea capitis according to the different sites of the disease. They occur widely throughout the world and are the most common fungal diseases with a high incidence rate.

(iii) Subcutaneous fungal disease. Infections of the skin, subcutaneous tissue, including muscles and connective tissue, generally do not spread to important organs through the bloodstream; however, some infections can slowly spread from the lesions to surrounding tissues, such as mycetoma; others spread along the lymphatic vessels, such as sporotrichosis and chromoblastomycosis. Subcutaneous fungi in immunocompromised patients have the potential for systemic dissemination.

4. Systemic fungal diseases In addition to invading the skin and subcutaneous tissue, it also affects tissues and organs, and even causes disseminated infection, which is also called invasive fungal infection. In recent years, with the widespread use of highly effective broad-spectrum antibiotics, immunosuppressants, and anti-tumor drugs, the in-depth development of organ transplantation, catheter technology, and other surgical interventional treatments, and especially the emergence of AIDS, systemic fungal diseases caused by opportunistic fungi have increased, new pathogens continue to emerge, and the disease has become increasingly serious.

These mainly include candidiasis, aspergillosis, cryptococcosis, zygomycosis and penicillium marneffei.
