Every time you wake up from sleep, you feel weak in your limbs, which confuses many people. Especially waking up during a nap can be quite uncomfortable. At this time, you should pay attention to whether it is scientific to take a nap in the afternoon. The nap time should not be too long, no more than an hour, and do not sleep on your stomach.

1. Sleeping on your stomach can easily aggravate myopia, because when the head is resting on the arm, the eyeball will be under long-term pressure, causing high intraocular pressure, eye expansion and eye axis growth; in addition, sleeping on your stomach can easily cause intervertebral disc degeneration and protrusion, continuous excessive stretching of ligaments and muscles, and then neck, waist and back pain and upper limb motor dysfunction, and severe cases can even lead to partial muscle paralysis.

2. The doctor said that it is best to sleep in a supine position during a nap, with some soft material as a pillow under your head and your feet flat. This is beneficial to blood circulation throughout the body and relaxation of muscles and joints.

3. Most white-collar workers do not have the conditions for taking a nap, but they should avoid lying on the table. They can choose a U-shaped neck pillow and rest for a while on a chair with a backrest to relax their eyes and provide support for their cervical spine. After waking up, they can do some stretching exercises to relieve muscle tension.

4. It should be noted that you should not go to bed immediately after lunch, otherwise a large amount of blood will flow to the digestive system, causing insufficient oxygen supply to the brain. In severe cases, it may also cause reflux esophagitis. You can do some light exercise for more than 10 minutes after a meal, walk around for a while, and then take a nap.

5. Don’t take a nap for too long, no more than 1 hour. If you take a nap for too long, you will enter a deep sleep and feel uncomfortable when you wake up. After waking up, you can wash your face with cold water and do some stretching exercises.

6. Hot days are coming. When taking a nap, you should not seek coolness and choose ventilated places such as corridors. You should not face the direction of air conditioners and fans, otherwise it is easy to cause colds, joint and muscle pains, and in severe cases, facial paralysis.
