Hypertensive heart disease is of course a relatively serious disease problem, which is particularly prone to occur in some people with hypertension. It often causes patients to experience symptoms such as palpitations, wheezing, and coughing, and in severe cases, acute pulmonary edema may occur. Hypertensive heart disease is an organic heart disease caused by long-term high blood pressure, which gradually increases the load on the left ventricle and causes the left ventricle to gradually thicken and dilate as a result of compensation. Hypertensive heart disease generally occurs several years to more than ten years after the onset of hypertension. It can be divided into compensatory heart function stage and decompensated heart function stage according to changes in heart function. During the compensatory stage of cardiac function, the patient may have no obvious subjective symptoms, but in the decompensated stage of cardiac function, symptoms of left heart failure gradually appear. At the beginning, the patient only feels palpitations, shortness of breath, and cough when tired, full or talking too much. Later, the symptoms gradually worsen. The above symptoms are paroxysmal, mostly manifested as paroxysmal dyspnea at night and blood in sputum. In severe cases, acute pulmonary edema may occur. 1. Maintain a calm and open-minded attitude: emotions have a huge impact on the human body. Patients with hypertensive heart disease should not be too excited, angry, nervous, etc., otherwise they are prone to symptoms such as dizziness, palpitations, tinnitus, and fatigue. Therefore, patients should remain optimistic, open-minded, calm, not anxious or irritable, and have a sense of proportion in their emotions. 2. Keep warm and prevent cold: In a cold environment, especially when the temperature drops suddenly, blood pressure will rise, which will increase the burden on the heart of patients with hypertensive heart disease and is not conducive to stabilizing the condition. When the seasons change, patients with hypertensive heart disease should keep warm, especially the head, face and limbs. 3. Ensure adequate sleep: Adequate rest time can help patients improve heart function, lower blood pressure, and relax the body and mind, which is very important for physical recovery. 4. Moderate exercise: Appropriate physical exercise helps lower blood pressure, reduce weight, dilate blood vessels and enhance myocardial function. Patients should not stay in bed for a long time. Not only patients with hypertensive heart disease, but also patients with angina pectoris due to coronary heart disease should engage in physical exercise within the scope permitted by their condition. However, patients with heart disease should not engage in strenuous exercise and should do everything within their ability. Exercises suitable for heart patients include: Qigong, Tai Chi, walking, etc. 5. Lose weight: Obesity increases the burden on the heart, so obese people are more likely to suffer from cardiovascular diseases than people with normal weight. Therefore, losing weight can help patients with hypertensive heart disease reduce the burden on the heart, control blood pressure, and help control the disease and restore health. Studies have found that overweight people not only have abnormal glucose tolerance and abnormal blood lipids, but are also more likely to develop arteriosclerosis than people of normal weight. |
