What medicine is effective for itchy throat and phlegm

An itchy throat with phlegm is a typical inflammatory phenomenon of a cold. The main site of the disease is in the throat. The symptoms are more obvious in smokers. Although this symptom does not seem serious, it is very difficult to treat and is prone to recurrence. Traditional Chinese medicine can fundamentally treat the symptoms of an itchy throat with phlegm. So, what medicine is effective for an itchy throat with phlegm?

1. Guizhi Decoction:

2: Prescription: 10 grams of cinnamon twig, 10 grams of white peony root, 2 slices of ginger, 10 grams of roasted licorice root, 10 red dates. Add six bowls of water to each dose, boil it over high heat until it becomes two bowls, drink one bowl on an empty stomach every three hours. Children can take half the amount.

3: Slight sweating will occur after taking the medicine. You can drink some porridge after taking the medicine so that the medicinal effect can reach the extremities. If the patient feels hungry and his appetite is restored at noon the next day after taking the medicine, it means he is cured.

2. Ephedra Decoction

1: Symptoms: The body is very sensitive to cold, has a fever, does not sweat, and has pain in the joints. This type of cold mostly occurs in winter, but occasionally occurs in summer.

2: Contraindications: Patients with heart disease should not use this prescription.

3: Prescription: 5 grams of ephedra, 10 grams of cinnamon twig, 5 grams of almond, and 10 grams of roasted licorice. Add three bowls of water to each dose and boil it into one bowl. Drink one bowl on an empty stomach three hours later. Children should take half the dose.

4: If the patient feels hungry and his appetite is restored at noon the next day after taking the medicine, it means he is cured.

3. Pueraria root soup:

1: This recipe is mostly used for children with colds, fever and sore throats. This is because the patient gets the cold when sweating.

2: Symptoms: The patient has pain in the back of the neck, headache, fear of wind, body muscle aches, sore throat, and thirst. Children who are suffering from chickenpox and fever can take it. The chickenpox will be forced out of the body when the fever subsides. The child will have chickenpox all over the body the next day after taking it. It seems scary, but it is actually a reflection of improvement of the disease. The patient can stop taking the medicine when the fever subsides and the appetite improves.

3: Prescription: 15 grams of Pueraria root, 5 grams of Ephedra, 10 grams of cinnamon twig, 10 grams of white peony root, and 2 slices of ginger. 10 grams of roasted licorice root and 10 dates. Add six bowls of water to each dose and boil over high heat until it becomes two bowls. Drink one bowl on an empty stomach within three hours. Children can take half the amount.
