If phlebitis is caused by veins, local hot compresses can promote local blood circulation and relieve local pain symptoms. Patients with high blood coagulation need to communicate with their doctors and take anticoagulant drugs, such as aspirin, when necessary. They can also wear elastic stockings to prevent thrombosis. Those with mild symptoms should do some appropriate exercise, avoid standing or sitting for long periods of time, and raise the affected limb when resting in bed to facilitate blood return and prevent blood stasis. Patients with deep vein thrombosis need to be immobilized.

If the patient's condition is severe and spreads to the great pubic vein or is suspected to be septic thrombophlebitis, timely surgical treatment is required.
