4. Rectal polyps or colon polyps: blood in the stool or bleeding after defecation, intermittent blood in the stool, generally not much blood in the stool, painless, the blood is attached to the surface of the stool, is bright red, and does not mix with the stool. Chronic cases may be mixed with mucus or pus. Sometimes the stool becomes thin and stringy, or has a depression on one side.

5. Rectal malignancy: more common in middle-aged and elderly people, blood in the stool occurs intermittently or repeatedly, gradually worsens, with symptoms of tenesmus, the surface of the stool may be mixed with mucus, pus, and blood, the stool is formed but gradually becomes thinner. In the late stage, patients may experience weight loss, anemia, etc.

6. Amebic dysentery: The main symptom is blood in the stool. The stool is maroon in color, contains a lot of mucus, and has a foul odor.

7. Hemorrhagic Escherichia coli enteritis: It is manifested by acute onset, accompanied by fever, diarrhea, and a history of eating rotten meat. It often presents as food poisoning.
