How to determine whether anal fistula is formed after drainage of perianal abscess?

Surgical drainage of perianal abscess is the most common and effective treatment method, but many people may develop anal fistula after surgery, so we need to make the right judgment. After the abscess is drained, the fistula can be opened surgically.

1. Perianal abscess is generally caused by acute infection of the soft tissue around the anus, resulting in redness, swelling and pain around the anus. The canal where the abscess occurs is the anal canal. Anal fistula may form after spontaneous rupture or surgical drainage of pus. After the symptoms of anal fistula occur, it is particularly difficult to treat, not only will the treatment time be relatively long.

2. After anal abscess occurs, if the abscess cannot burst on its own, surgery should be performed promptly to drain the abscess out of the body. Then surgery is performed to actively treat the fistula. When draining pus, it must be drained cleanly, otherwise it will be very detrimental to the subsequent treatment.

3. After the abscess is completely and thoroughly eliminated, surgery can be used to cut open or completely remove the fistula. When the fistula is open, it is much easier to treat than when it is closed. The patient will not feel so much pain.

4. If the patient's anal fistula is located relatively high, then the hanging thread method can be chosen for treatment. Use a rubber band across the fistula tract. It is necessary to change the dressing every day. When changing the dressing, just tighten the rubber band to effectively treat the affected area.

5. In the event of perianal abscess, as long as the pus is drained in time and an anal fistula is formed, necessary surgical treatment will have a very good therapeutic effect. Patients should not have too much psychological burden, otherwise it will be detrimental to the treatment of the disease.

Drainage of perianal abscess may lead to anal fistula.

6. In the case of perianal abscess, the treatment usually requires eliminating the abscess first and draining the pus in the skin. This will form an anal fistula, and a fistula will appear in the place where the pus is drained. Then the anal fistula can be basically cured by treatment.
