What's going on with the sudden severe pain in my lower abdomen?

Lower abdominal pain is a common clinical symptom, and the causes of lower abdominal pain are different between men and women. Many people do not know what causes sudden and severe lower abdominal pain. For women, sudden and severe lower abdominal pain may be a cyclical pain or a disease factor.

1. Ovulation

Abdominal pain during ovulation is often on one side of the lower abdomen. The pain is not severe, and is dull, dull, or bloated. Sometimes it is not noticed and does not cause serious harm. It will last for about half a day to a day and then ease on its own. This is a signal that the egg is discharged from the ovary. Some women experience lower abdominal pain in the middle of each menstrual cycle, which is usually called ovulation pain. Ovulation abdominal pain is a physiological abdominal pain caused by the rupture of the follicles during ovulation and the stimulation of the peritoneum by the follicular fluid after ovulation, so the abdominal pain is relatively mild. Usually, the two ovaries in a woman's body ovulate in turn, once a month, so abdominal pain also occurs periodically once a month, often with pain alternating between the left and right lower abdomen.

2. Inflammation

This is probably abdominal pain caused by inflammation, which is stimulated by bacterial toxins and inflammatory exudates, and the body temperature and white blood cell count also increase. Gynecological inflammation such as acute salpingitis causes pain and fever, which should be differentiated from acute appendicitis. The former is pain in both lower abdomen, while the latter starts from the umbilicus and then turns to the right lower abdomen.

3. Intestinal spasms

Consider the symptoms and pain caused by intestinal spasm. You can take Huoxiang Zhengqi Capsules, Berberine Tablets and Belladonna Tablets for symptomatic treatment. Also pay attention to your diet, avoid overeating and eating raw and cold food, and avoid increasing the burden on the gastrointestinal tract. Acupuncture, massage or hot compress around the navel can help if necessary. Pay attention to liquid and easily digestible diet.

4. Others

There are many causes of abdominal pain, which can be mainly summarized as pain caused by diseases of abdominal organs and pain caused by diseases of extra-abdominal organs, inflammation of abdominal organs: such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, appendicitis, peritonitis, etc.
