This is why my spine hurts when I lower my head

Many office workers and students will experience cervical pain when they lower their heads, which seriously affects people's normal work and study. But what is the problem that causes pain in the cervical spine when I lower my head? In fact, this is a manifestation of cervical spondylosis. At this time, you must actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment to avoid worsening of the condition.

1. The pain in the cervical spine when you lower your head turns out to be cervical spondylosis

Neck pain when lowering the head is a manifestation of strain around the cervical spine, especially the neck and back muscles. It is cervical spondylosis. If not treated, it will lead to other types of cervical spondylosis. Therefore, cervical spondylosis should be nipped in the bud. The treatment mainly focuses on functional exercises to improve the muscle strength around the cervical spine, and the effect of drugs is limited.

2. Treatment of cervical spondylosis

1. Drug treatment, including the selective use of analgesics, sedatives, vitamins (B1, B12), etc., can have a certain effect on relieving pain.

2. Exercise therapy: When the symptoms of various types of cervical spondylosis are basically relieved or become chronic, medical gymnastics can be started to promote further elimination of symptoms and consolidate the therapeutic effect. During the emergency period of symptoms, local rest is recommended and increased exercise stimulation should not be increased.

3. Manual massage therapy and physical therapy are more effective treatments for cervical spondylosis. Its therapeutic effect is mainly to relieve symptoms by relieving tension and spasm of streamlined muscle groups, restoring cervical spine activity, and loosening nerve root and soft tissue adhesions, but gravity massage and reduction are prohibited for spinal cervical spondylotic myelopathy.

4. Warm compress, you can use a hot towel or hot water bag for local application, which can improve blood circulation, relieve muscle spasms, eliminate swelling to alleviate symptoms, and help stabilize the affected vertebra after manual treatment. Warm compress treatment is not suitable when the pain is severe in the acute stage.

5. Surgical treatment. If non-surgical treatment is ineffective for half a year or affects normal life and work, surgical treatment should be performed. Since the natural history of cervical spondylotic myelopathy is that symptoms gradually develop and worsen, surgical treatment should be performed after diagnosis.
