1. Side effects of Angelica dahurica:

2. The effect of Angelica dahurica on the cardiovascular system

The dichloromethane extract of Angelica dahurica mainly contains coumarin compounds such as methoxyparsin, which has the activity of antagonizing calcium channel blocker receptors, and this activity is related to blood pressure and heart rhythm. At doses of 20 and 10 mg/kg, the arterial pressure of cats was reduced by 50% and 30%, respectively, lasting for 2 hours and 1 hour, respectively. However, at a dose of 1-2 mg/kg in rats, arterial pressure and cardiac contractility were increased, stimulating respiration. It is also reported that intravenous injection of 0.1-0.5ml/kg of crude preparation of Angelica dahurica has a hypotensive effect on anesthetized dogs and cats. Duhuo also acts on calcium channel blocker receptors.

3. Analgesic, sedative and anti-inflammatory effects

Intraperitoneal injection of 2g/kg of Angelica dahurica decoction can significantly prolong the pain reaction time of animals caused by the hot plate method in mice, indicating that Angelica dahurica has a significant analgesic effect.

4. Photosensitivity

Furanocoumarin compounds such as bergamotol, zanthoxylum toxin and isoimperatorin are photoactive substances. Once they enter the body and are exposed to sunlight or ultraviolet rays, they can cause solar dermatitis on the exposed skin, causing redness and swelling, increased pigmentation, and even thickening of the epidermis.
