What does photosensitive food mean? What to pay attention to

Photosensitive foods generally refer to foods that contain photosensitive factors, and these foods have a particularly strong ability to absorb light. Note that sun protection measures should be taken.

Photosensitive foods are rich in photosensitive factors and can easily absorb sunlight. When people eat these foods and are exposed to sunlight, the activity of melanocytes in the skin may increase, many spots may appear on the skin, and the skin may become darker. These foods are collectively called photosensitive foods. Currently common photosensitive foods include lemons, carrots, papayas and celery, as well as coriander, rapeseed, potatoes, etc.

After eating photosensitive food, you should take appropriate sun protection measures. When going out, you can use a parasol or a sun hat, or wear long pants and long sleeves to reduce the irritation of ultraviolet rays to the skin. The ultraviolet rays in the sun will stimulate the skin to produce a large number of oxidative free radicals, and this free radical will damage skin tissue cells and cause excessive melanin in the skin. Especially after eating some photosensitive foods, the skin's light absorption is relatively strong, and the impact on the skin will also increase.

People who suffer from certain skin diseases, such as allergic purpura, allergic urticaria, allergic dermatitis and other symptoms, generally cannot eat photosensitive foods.
