What medicine to take for advanced cervical cancer

Cervical cancer is a disease that female friends are relatively familiar with, and it is also one of the most common female malignant tumors. Compared with other cancers, cervical cancer progresses more slowly, so this helps the patient's treatment. However, although the surgical treatment of cervical cancer is more effective, many patients are not suitable for surgical treatment due to poor physical condition and other factors. In this case, drug treatment is necessary. So how do drugs treat cervical cancer?

Drugs for treating cervical cancer can be divided into chemotherapy drugs and traditional Chinese medicine. Drug therapy is mostly used for the treatment of advanced cervical cancer.

1. Chemotherapy drugs for cervical cancer

Chemotherapy is an important treatment for advanced cervical cancer. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs for cervical cancer include cisplatin, carboplatin, cyclophosphamide, mitomycin, etc. These drugs have their own advantages and disadvantages, and it is difficult to evaluate which drug is the best drug for cervical cancer. For example, cisplatin has the advantages of a broad anti-cancer spectrum and strong effects, but it is easy to cause kidney toxicity. Carboplatin has a similar mechanism of action to cisplatin, but its kidney toxicity, gastrointestinal reactions, ototoxicity and neurotoxicity are milder than cisplatin, while its bone marrow toxicity is more severe than cisplatin.

2. Traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of cervical cancer

The advantage of Chinese medicine in treating cervical cancer is that it has a certain inhibitory effect on tumors, has no side effects, can improve human immunity, reduce the toxicity of chemotherapy drugs, improve the quality of life of patients, and prolong survival time. At present, there are many types of Chinese medicine for the treatment of cervical cancer, and the quality varies. When choosing a suitable drug for the patient, you should pay attention to the indications of the drug and learn more about the clinical application of the drug.

Drugs should not be used indiscriminately, especially Western medicine, which has relatively large side effects. It should be decided based on the patient's specific condition and constitution. Traditional Chinese medicine is safer but has limited effects, so it is recommended to combine traditional Chinese and Western medicine for treatment.
