The role of polyacrylamide

I believe everyone is familiar with polyacrylamide. It is a flocculant and is often used in papermaking in industry. Potassium aluminum sulfate dodecahydrate, also known as alum, can also be used to make paper, but alum and polyacrylamide are two different substances. The stability of polyamide is better than that of alum, and its water purification effect is better than that of alum. But alum is quite common in life, and people can buy it for their own use. The role of polyacrylamide is introduced in detail below.

1. Used in papermaking industry, firstly, to improve the retention rate of fillers, pigments, etc. To reduce the loss of raw materials and environmental pollution; secondly, to improve the strength of paper (including dry strength and wet strength). In addition, the use of PAM can also improve the tear resistance and porosity of paper to improve visual and printing properties. It is also used in food and tea packaging paper.

2. It is widely used in the petroleum industry, oil production, drilling mud, waste mud treatment, prevention of water channeling, reduction of friction, improvement of recovery rate, and tertiary oil recovery.

3. Used as textile sizing agent, with stable sizing performance, less sizing loss, low fabric breakage rate and smooth surface.

4. PAM is also widely used in thickening, colloid stabilization, drag reduction, bonding, film formation, biomedical materials, etc.

5. Used in daily chemical industry, it is often combined with laureth-7 and C13-14 isoparaffin in sleeping masks to form an emulsion thickener, emulsifier and stabilizer.

6. Other industries, food industry, used for cane sugar juice clarification and syrup phosphate flotation extraction in the production of cane sugar and beet sugar. Enzyme preparation fermentation liquid flocculation clarification industry, also used for feed protein recovery, stable quality, good performance, the recovered protein powder has no adverse effects on improving the survival rate of chickens, weight gain, and egg production, synthetic resin coatings, civil engineering grouting materials for water blocking, building materials industry, improving cement quality, construction industry adhesives, caulking repair and water blocking agents, soil improvement, electroplating industry, printing and dyeing industry, etc.
