Diagnosis and prevention of contact angular cheilitis

Diagnosis and prevention of contact angular cheilitis

Angular cheilitis is a disease that occurs at the corners of the mouth, but its cause is mostly due to insufficient vitamin intake and dry climate, so traditional angular cheilitis is not contagious. However, the bacteria that cause angular cheilitis have now changed and can be transmitted to other people who use these cosmetics through cosmetics such as lipstick and powder puffs, causing contact angular cheilitis.

1. Clinical manifestations of contact angular cheilitis

Acute onset after exposure to allergens or toxins. There is obvious local congestion, edema, and erosion at the corners of the mouth, increased exudate, cracking, and severe pain. In addition to angular cheilitis, other symptoms of mucosal allergic reactions may occur, such as edema of the red part of the lips and erosion of the oral mucosa. In severe cases, there may be skin manifestations such as rash and urticaria, as well as systemic symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, asthma, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

2. Diagnosis of contact angular cheilitis

The onset is rapid, with edema and exudation and obvious pain. Carefully trace the medical history to determine if there is any suspected history of contact with cosmetics or oral intake of food or drugs. A history of allergies can help confirm the diagnosis. Routine blood tests may show increased white blood cell count and eosinophil count, and increased immunoglobulins IgE and IgC.

3. Prevention of contact angular cheilitis

Minimize the use of makeup. If it is necessary to use it, try it on a small scale first to observe whether there are any adverse reactions. When changing lipstick, pay attention to the brand batch number and try not to use new varieties. Avoid medications and foods that may cause allergic reactions.

How to diagnose contact angular cheilitis skin disease? Laboratory tests are required, and then a treatment method suitable for patients with contact angular cheilitis is developed based on the patient's symptoms of contact angular cheilitis. Only in this way can patients get rid of the pain of contact angular cheilitis as soon as possible and return to normal life and work as soon as possible.
