What department should I go to for low fever

Low-grade fever can be treated in the internal medicine department or outpatient department to check the cause of the low-grade fever. If you have a fever, you should first actively treat the cause of the fever, which is the fundamental way to solve the problem. For example, for infectious fever, effective drugs are selected for treatment according to the source of infection. Dehydrated patients should actively receive fluid replacement, immediately stop taking the medication when a drug reaction occurs, and receive anti-allergic treatment, etc.

Secondly, for infectious fever, fever itself is one of the manifestations of the body's immune system clearing the source of infection. Unless the patient has a high fever and is in severe discomfort and strongly requests it, there is usually no need to rush to use antipyretic drugs. But you must inform the patient and gain his or her understanding. For patients with high fever, cooling treatment must be carried out. Ice bags can be used and placed on the head, armpits and groin. The ice bags should be wrapped in a dry towel before use. You can also use alcohol to wipe your body, using 35% to 50% ethanol solution. The patient lies on his back, and wipe from the outside of the neck to the back of the hand. Then use a small towel to wipe from the armpit along the inside of the arm to the palm.

A low fever refers to a body temperature between 37.3℃ and 38℃. Long-term low-grade fever refers to a fever that lasts for more than two weeks, excluding intermittent fever. Fever is a symptom. Diseases such as rheumatism, tuberculosis, chronic inflammation, and low immunity can cause persistent low fever; long-term psychological stress and emotional instability can also cause it.
