Is 35 degrees a low fever?

The armpit temperature of a normal person is generally between 36 and 37 degrees. Some people have a cold constitution and their body temperature will be lower. However, if the patient's temperature is measured at 35 degrees, it is very abnormal and dangerous. At this time, you must measure it repeatedly to see if the thermometer is damaged. If it is not damaged, you must go to the hospital in time. So is 35 degrees a low fever?

Is a temperature of 35 degrees considered a low fever?

The normal axillary temperature of the human body is 36 to 37 degrees, but the patient's axillary temperature is only 35 degrees, which is abnormal. It indicates that the body temperature is very low and needs early treatment. In the current situation, the first thing to do is to keep warm, and secondly, you need to drink more warm water to help raise your body temperature, and you need to monitor changes in body temperature regularly.

What to do if you have a low-grade fever

1. Massage acupoints

Massage can treat and relieve low fever, but the massage must be done in the right positions. You should massage the Tianshu point and the points on both sides for 2 minutes. Repeated massage can promote the disappearance of low fever. In addition, if accompanied by headache symptoms, you can massage the Fengchi point, Fengfu point and the entire scalp at the same time, which can reduce fever and relieve headaches.

Acupoint location: Tianshu point is located two inches away from the navel. Fengchi point is located on the neck, below the occipital bone, in the depression between the upper outer edge of the trapezius muscle and the upper posterior edge of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. Fengfu point is located on the neck, 1 inch directly above the middle of the hairline.

2. Physical cooling

(1) When you have a low fever, you can use warm water to help the body dissipate heat. Take out some warm water, and the warm water should be around 30℃. Undress, wet a towel, and rub your body up and down with the warm towel. Change towels every 10-15 minutes.

(2) Taking a bath is very comfortable. It can relieve fever. Taking a hot shower helps to reduce body temperature, just like drinking warm water can detoxify and lower the temperature. Generally speaking, you can take a bath when your body temperature is around 38 degrees, but the water temperature should not be too high. 32-34 degrees Celsius is more suitable. You should also eat something before taking a bath to prevent hypoglycemia. After bathing, dry your body and put on clothes as soon as possible to avoid catching a cold, which will aggravate the condition. In addition, keep an eye on the water temperature. If the water is cold, add some hot water in time.

(3) Use a sponge to wipe your entire body; evaporation can also have a cooling effect. After squeezing out excess water from the sponge, wipe one area at a time, keeping the rest of the area covered with clothing. Your body heat will evaporate this water, helping to dissipate the heat.

Note: Although alcohol evaporates more easily than water, it may cause discomfort to patients with fever. Do not wipe with alcohol. Furthermore, inhaling alcohol vapor or even absorbing alcohol through the skin is not good for the patient.

(4) Cold compresses can also be used to help lower body temperature. Place a cold wet towel on your forehead, wrists, and calves, and cover other parts of your body with clothing. When the cold compress reaches body temperature, it should be changed and repeated until the fever subsides. You can also wrap ice cubes in a cloth bag and place it on your forehead.

3. Replenish fluids

When you have a low fever, you should pay attention to replenishing fluids, such as boiled water, vegetable juice, scented tea, etc., to help sweating and prevent dehydration. Water has the function of regulating temperature, which can lower body temperature and replenish water loss in the body. If a low-grade fever is not very serious, drinking more hot water can relieve it. The best way to test whether you are drinking enough water is to see if the color of your urine is clear.
