What are the massage points for stiff neck?

The weather is relatively cold in winter, so this period is also the peak period for stiff neck. Sometimes, if you don’t cover tightly, your neck will be frozen, which will cause stiff neck. So which acupoints should be massaged for stiff neck?

1. Press the Chengshan point: The Chengshan point is in the middle of the calf, below the abdominal muscles on both sides of the calf. When you stretch your calf with a little force, the calf abdominal muscles will appear, at the angle of the abdominal muscles. If you still don't understand, look at the picture below on Baidu. Generally speaking, one side of the acupoint is more painful, so focus on the more painful side. Generally, press for 15 to 20 minutes, and while pressing, gently rotate your neck from small to large.

2. Pinch the Hegu point: Pinch the Hegu point on the painful side with your thumb until you feel sore. At the same time, slowly move your neck for 2 minutes. This is very effective for patients with mild symptoms. The Hegu point is located when the thumb and index finger are together, at the highest point of the muscle.

3. Pluck the Shousanli point: For people with stiff neck, the muscles of the Shousanli point on the painful side will become stiff and very sensitive. Even light rubbing and plucking will cause soreness. Use your thumb to rub and plucking the Shousanli point on the painful side for 1 to 2 minutes. Shousanli point is located 2 inches below the transverse line of the elbow (slightly outside). 2 inches is the width of your three fingers combined.
