Is it necessary to do cervical cancer screening

Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor caused by persistent infection with human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV16 and 18 subtypes cause about 70% of cervical cancers, and other carcinogenic subtypes (called "high-risk") cause the remaining 30% of cervical cancers. So which groups of people need to be screened for cervical cancer?

1. The risk of cervical cancer after the age of 65 is extremely low, so it is generally not recommended to screen for cervical cancer in women over 65. It is recommended that any woman who has had sexual intercourse for more than three years or has had sexual intercourse for more than 21 years should start regular cervical cancer screening.
2. Women who marry and have children early, have a history of miscarriage, sexually transmitted diseases, or have multiple sexual partners are all at high risk of cervical cancer. Data show that women with multiple sexual partners have a 2-3 times higher risk of cervical cancer than those with only one sexual partner.
3. Regular screening can help early detection and eradication of cervical cancer. In recent years, research on cervical cancer prevention has made breakthrough progress, confirming that high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the cause of cervical cancer.
