Massage methods for spleen and stomach disharmony

Massage methods for spleen and stomach disharmony

Those who suffer from spleen and stomach problems can improve their condition by learning some massage methods, but when massaging, they should pay attention to choosing the correct acupoints. Massaging the Zhongwan point, or rubbing the abdomen and pinching the spine can all have a good conditioning effect.

1. Massage acupoints

The first is Zhongwan acupoint. Zhongwan point is a very important acupuncture point in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. It is located in the center of the line connecting the lower end of the sternum and the navel, approximately one palm above the navel. When doing acupressure, lie on your back, relax your muscles, exhale slowly, and press down firmly with your fingers. Remove your hands after 6 seconds. Repeat 10 times and this will make your stomach feel comfortable. When you have stomach pain, the Zhongwan acupressure method is more effective.

The second is Tianshu point. This point is located two thumb widths to the left and right of the navel. The patient can lie flat on the bed, press down with the middle three fingers, and massage this area for about 2 minutes. The main diseases and symptoms treated by Tianshu point include indigestion, nausea and vomiting, bloating, diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc.

The last point is Zusanli. The Zusanli point is located four finger widths below the outer kneecap and on the edge of the tibia. Press for 6 seconds and then remove your hands, repeat 10 times. This can promote the secretion of gastric acid, make the stomach feel comfortable, and also have a pain-relieving effect.

2. Abdominal massage

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the human abdomen is the "palace of the internal organs and the source of yin and yang, qi and blood." Abdominal massage can harmonize the upper and lower parts, regulate yin and yang, remove the old and create the new, replenish the five internal organs, drive away external evils, and clear up all internal diseases. The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine records: "Massaging the abdomen is a secret to health preservation." Sun Simiao, a famous doctor in the Tang Dynasty, once wrote: "Massaging the abdomen regularly can cure all diseases."

The method is: choose to do it before going to bed and getting up at night, empty your bladder, wash your hands, lie on your back, bend your knees slightly, and relax your whole body. Place your left hand on your abdomen with your palm facing your navel. Place your right hand on top of your left hand. First, rub your abdomen 50 times in a clockwise direction around your navel, and then rub it 50 times in a counterclockwise direction. When massaging, use moderate force, concentrate your mind, breathe naturally, and persist. You will definitely get obvious fitness results.

3. Chiropractic

Chiropractic therapy is to treat diseases by stimulating certain meridians and acupoints of the body. It is especially suitable for children suffering from spleen and stomach disharmony, indigestion, anorexia and other diseases. The main focus is on pinching the spine and both sides of the back. The spine is in the middle of the back and is where the Du meridian is located. Both sides of the spine are the routes of the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian. Stimulating its acupoints can help dredge the meridians, harmonize Qi and blood, and adjust the internal organs.

4. Pinch your calf

On the inner side of the calf are the Taiyin spleen meridian of the foot, the Jueyin liver meridian of the foot and the Shaoyin kidney meridian of the foot. Pressing and kneading this area will have a certain stimulating effect on the acupoints where the above meridians are located. The Taiyin spleen meridian of the foot is connected to the spleen and stomach, so kneading and pressing this area can treat stomach diseases. Of course, this only applies to common stomach problems and can relieve mild stomach pain. For those with severe stomach problems, they should go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment.
