What are the side effects of vitamin b6

Vitamin B6 may sound familiar to us. Many people in our lives are supplementing it, but some people actually supplement it for a long time. You must know that all medicines are toxic. Long-term excessive use will have a great impact on the body. So what are its side effects?

1. Side effects of vitamin B6: Long-term excessive intake can cause severe peripheral neuritis, abnormal nerve sensation, unstable gait, numbness of hands and feet. If 200 mg is taken daily for more than 30 days, it has been reported that vitamin B6 dependence syndrome may occur.

2. Precautions

(1) Allergic reactions rarely occur.

(2) When used in combination with levodopa, the efficacy of levodopa may be reduced.

(3) Cycloserine, ethionamide, chloramphenicol, hydralazine hydrochloride, isoniazid, penicillamine and immunosuppressants including glucocorticoids, cyclophosphamide, cyclosporine and other drugs can antagonize vitamin B6 or enhance the renal excretion of vitamin B6, and may even cause anemia or peripheral neuritis.

(4) Estrogen can reduce the activity of vitamin B6 in the body.

3. Recommended daily intake: The daily intake for adults is 1.6-2.0 mg, pregnant women need 2.2 mg, and breastfeeding women need 2.1 mg. Vitamin B6 works best when combined with vitamin B1, B2, pantothenic acid, vitamin C and magnesium.

4. Treatment of diseases

1. Arteriosclerosis, 2. Baldness, 3. High cholesterol, 4. Cystitis, 5. Oily face, 6. Hypoglycemia, 7. Mental disorders, 8. Muscle disorders, 9. Neurological disorders, 10. Vomiting in early pregnancy, 11. Overweight, 12. Vomiting after surgery, 13. Urgency, 14. Sensitivity to sunlight, etc.

2. Diabetic blood vessels: Vitamin B6 can slow down the vascular complications of diabetic rats treated with insulin. Vascular disease complications are the main cause of death from diabetes. The prevalence of arterial disease is higher in both insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent patients than in the general population.
