How to disinfect a washing machine

The washing machine is a helper to help us wash clothes, but if we use the washing machine for a long time, we should also pay attention to regular disinfection. The best way to disinfect and prevent mildew is to open the lid or use disinfectant for disinfection after washing clothes.

1. One of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent mold is: don’t cover the washing machine after washing clothes.

Washing machines need to be protected from fungal spores: The number of fungal spores in fully automatic washing machines is higher than that in semi-automatic washing machines. Therefore, after washing clothes, you should empty the water in the washing machine in time, open the lid and use a disinfection cabinet or clothing disinfectant if conditions permit; underwear is best washed by hand.

2. The inside of the washing machine looks very clean, but you don’t know that there is an outer drum outside the washing drum when washing clothes. The washing water goes in and out between these two layers, and the water is discharged in this interlayer. If you pull out the washing drum and take a look, you will definitely be shocked, because the dirt inside the interlayer is very serious!

3. The interlayer of the washing machine is actually like a sewer. Its dirt is mainly composed of scale, free detergent substances, fibers, organic matter, dust, bacteria and other garbage. These hodgepodges are firmly attached to the interlayer of the washing machine, multiply and ferment at room temperature, and will contaminate clothes when washing clothes, and may even cause itchy and allergic skin.

4. When cleaning, pour three kettles of water and descaling agent (available on the market) into an empty container, prepare it in the ratio of descaling agent/water = 1/2 and stir evenly. Pour the mixed descaling solution from the detergent box, being careful not to splash it on your skin. Then press the power switch of the washing machine, set the program to "washing program" (select the longest time), and rotate the washing drum; after the descaling liquid is discharged from the drain pipe into the drum, add the discharged descaling liquid from the detergent adding box, repeat this several times until the program is completed, open the filter and clean the filter.

5. After the machine has finished running, open the water inlet valve and restore the drain pipe to its original position. Reselect the washing program and start the washing machine again. After the program is finished, clean the filter again. At this point, the descaling and cleaning is completed.

6. However, the surface of the washing machine drum will become slightly dark due to the effect of the descaling liquid, but it will not affect normal use and will return to its original state after washing clothes a few times.
