What to do if you have thrombocytopenia and how to treat it

The role of platelets is indispensable in our daily life because they can stop bleeding from wounds. There are many ways to treat platelets, depending on the patient's condition. If the patient's condition is relatively mild, diet therapy can be used for treatment.

Conventional treatment

Thrombocytopenic purpura is mainly characterized by bleeding, and treatment can be based on syndrome differentiation and treatment according to blood symptoms. The main pathogenesis is heat, deficiency and blood stasis. The treatment should focus on clearing heat, cooling blood and stopping bleeding, replenishing Qi and Yin, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. At the same time, methods such as nourishing the liver and kidneys should be used to treat both the symptoms and the root cause. Key points of diagnosis:

First, we need to distinguish between deficiency and excess. This disease should first be divided into deficiency and excess and the presence or absence of heat.

1. Excessive heat forces blood to flow

2. Yin deficiency and excessive fire

3. Qi cannot hold blood

4. Blood stasis blocking collaterals

Meridian-mediated regulation of blood production therapy

[Recommended therapy] Meridian-mediated regulation of hematopoiesis therapy can replace single hormone therapy. According to TCM theory, blood diseases and bleeding tendencies such as ecchymosis are due to deficiency of both Qi and blood, insufficiency of the spleen and kidney, loss of essence and blood, inability of Qi to retain blood, blood not returning to the meridians, and blood flowing indiscriminately. Experts from the Department of Hematology at Beijing Blue Ocean Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine pointed out that "meridian-mediated hematopoietic regulation therapy" can bidirectionally regulate the body's yin and yang balance, strengthen the spleen and kidneys, replenish qi and nourish blood, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, stop bleeding and eliminate spots; restore bone marrow hematopoiesis, and bidirectionally regulate the body's immune function.

This method can enhance the body's immunity, improve bone marrow hematopoietic function, improve vascular permeability, increase vascular elasticity, and effectively prevent bleeding in the skin and various organs. During the treatment of patients, the dosage of hormones can be gradually reduced to zero and eventually replaced by hormones. According to clinical observation, the total effective rate was 98% and the clinical cure rate was 86%.

Prognosis and Outcome

Western medicine treatment first uses adrenal cortical hormones. If complete relief is not achieved, splenectomy can be considered. If splenectomy fails, corticosteroids can still be used. If it is still ineffective, immune preparations can be used. For severe bleeding, large doses of immunoglobulin may be administered intravenously, platelet suspension may be transfused, or plasma exchange may be used as appropriate. Acute idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura is usually self-limited and has a good prognosis. According to clinical statistics, about 80% of cases can heal themselves within half a year without treatment, and the general course of the disease is 4-6 weeks. Patients rarely relapse after recovery. The mortality rate of this disease is about 1%, and most deaths are due to intracranial hemorrhage. However, there is no spontaneous remission of chronic thrombocytopenic purpura.
