The dangers of high blood pressure, you need to know these

Hypertension is a disease that affects people's health. If you do not pay attention to measuring blood pressure regularly, once high blood pressure occurs, it will be difficult to control. High blood pressure has many hazards. It mainly affects the patient's heart, brain, and kidneys. In the early stages, patients will feel headaches, dizziness, insomnia and other hazards. It will be more serious in the middle and late stages. It will affect blood vessels, heart, and brain, and often cause symptoms of cerebral hemorrhage, and may even be life-threatening.

Early stage hazards

1. Headache: mostly located in the back of the head, accompanied by symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. If you experience frequent and severe headaches accompanied by nausea and vomiting, this may be a sign of a transition to malignant hypertension.

2. Dizziness: It is more common in female patients and they may feel it when they suddenly squat or stand up; tinnitus, tinnitus in both ears, which lasts for a long time.

3. Palpitations and shortness of breath: Hypertension can lead to myocardial hypertrophy, cardiac enlargement, myocardial infarction, and heart failure, which are all symptoms that cause palpitations and shortness of breath.

4. Insomnia: mostly characterized by difficulty falling asleep, early awakening, restless sleep, nightmares, and easy awakening. This is related to cerebral cortical dysfunction and autonomic nervous system dysfunction.

5. Limb numbness: common symptoms include numbness in fingers and toes or a crawling sensation on the skin, and inflexible fingers. Numbness may also occur in other parts of the body, as well as paresthesias and even hemiplegia.

Mid- to late-stage hazards

1. Damage to blood vessels: Hypertension aggravates sclerosis of small arteries throughout the body, causing ischemia, hypoxia, and functional impairment of important organs such as the heart, brain, and kidneys; it forms atherosclerosis, which can easily cause vascular hemorrhage and thrombosis; it can also form aneurysms. Once blood pressure rises suddenly, the rupture of the hemangioma is life-threatening.

2. Damage to the heart: High blood pressure increases the workload on the heart, making ventricular hypertrophy more likely to occur, further leading to hypertensive heart disease, coronary heart disease, heart failure, and heart rhythm disorders. Cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral infarction are common in the brain. Causes kidney atrophy and then leads to renal function.

High blood pressure can lead to serious complications

1. Cause cerebrovascular disease

The main direct complication of hypertension is cerebrovascular disease, especially cerebral hemorrhage. A group of 312 hospitalized patients with essential hypertension were followed up for 15 to 18 years. 97 deaths were due to heart, brain, and kidney complications, accounting for 74.6% of all causes of death. In a prospective 27-month follow-up observation study of 596 elderly patients with hypertension, the cumulative incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases was 68.79%, and the cumulative incidence of cerebrovascular disease was 36.91%. Studies have shown that the higher the blood pressure, the higher the incidence of complications. A study on the relationship between blood pressure and stroke incidence among 5,456 people aged 15 and above in Baoshan District, Shanghai showed that within the 9-year follow-up, cerebrovascular disease in hypertensive patients accounted for about 70% of the total number of cerebrovascular disease cases in the entire population. Among them, the relative risk of cerebrovascular disease in patients with confirmed hypertension was 32 times that of those with normal blood pressure, and that of critical hypertension was as high as 9 times.

2. Cause kidney disease

Long-term hypertension can lead to renal arteriosclerosis. When renal function is impaired, it may cause nocturia, polyuria, and urine containing protein, casts, and red blood cells. Poor urine concentrating function, phenol red excretion and urea clearance disorders. Azotemia and uremia occur.

3. Cause sudden death

Sudden death is the most urgent clinical condition. It manifests as sudden respiratory and cardiac arrest, loss of consciousness, and often death within 1 hour. Hypertension increases the load on the left ventricle, leading to left ventricular hypertrophy, which makes the patient more susceptible to arrhythmias and coronary heart disease, and is a high-risk factor for sudden death. Sudden death from coronary heart disease accounts for about 90% of all sudden deaths from cardiovascular diseases.

4. Causes a variety of diseases

Hypertension can also lead to multiple diseases of the heart, brain, kidneys and blood vessels, and cause complications that seriously threaten life and health, such as left ventricular hypertrophy, congestive heart failure, aortic dissection, chronic renal failure, etc.

A simple, practical, effective, economical and harmless new therapy and technology - remote ischemic preconditioning can effectively prevent the occurrence of hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and other diseases.
