Sometimes, due to carelessness in life, people are likely to suffer from arterial bleeding. If not treated in time, it will pose a threat to people's health and lives. Therefore, people must pay attention to arterial bleeding and learn more about some methods of stopping arterial bleeding so that they can meet emergency needs. 1. Finger pressure hemostasis (compression hemostasis): Use your fingers to press the arterial pressure point above the wound (proximal end), press the artery against the bone, interrupting blood circulation to achieve the purpose of hemostasis. Acupressure is a relatively quick and effective temporary method of hemostasis. After stopping the bleeding, other hemostasis methods should be used immediately. 2. Apply pressure bandage to stop bleeding: first cover the wound with a sterilized gauze pad, then fold a cotton ball, gauze roll, or towel, hat, etc. into a pad, place it on the wound dressing, and then bandage it tightly with a triangular scarf or bandage to achieve the purpose of stopping bleeding. This method is prohibited when there are broken bones in the wound. Used to pump blood into small arteries, veins and capillaries. 3. Pad flexion to stop bleeding: ① If there is bleeding in the forearm or calf, place a gauze pad, cotton ball, towel or clothing in the elbow or popliteal fossa, flex the joint, and tightly wrap the flexed liver with a triangular scarf or bandage. ② If the upper arm is bleeding, add padding to the armpit, bend the forearm in front of the chest, and use a triangular bandage or bandage to firmly secure the upper arm to the chest. ③ If the thigh is bleeding, add padding at the base of the thigh, flex the hip and knee joints, and use a triangular bandage or a long strap to fix the leg tightly to the torso. 4. Tourniquet hemostasis: used for bleeding in larger arteries of the limbs. A tourniquet should only be used when other methods cannot stop bleeding or the injured limb cannot be restored. Because tourniquets can easily cause limb disability, be especially careful when using them. There are two types of tourniquets, made of rubber and cloth. If there is no tourniquet, a wide bandage, triangular bandage or other cloth strips can be used instead in case of emergency. |
