Why is my hair red? Can it be improved?

If you find that your hair is turning red, it may be caused by hair malnutrition. Generally speaking, hair color is determined by genes. Different hair colors indicate that the substances contained in the hair are also different.

Hair color is generally determined by genes, with common colors being black, blond, brown and red. As humans age, their hair often turns silver. Due to different races and regions, hair can be black, golden, reddish brown, reddish brown, light yellow, gray, and even green and red. You can also dye your hair into a variety of colors by dyeing it. Scientific research has proven that hair color is related to the different metal elements contained in the hair. Black hair contains equal amounts of copper, iron and melanin, and when the nickel content increases, it turns gray. Blonde hair contains titanium, reddish-brown hair contains molybdenum, reddish-brown hair contains cobalt in addition to copper and iron, and green hair contains too much copper. In some African countries, some children have red hair, which is caused by severe protein deficiency.

1. Since iron is a necessary trace element for the formation of black hair, when suffering from iron deficiency anemia, the hair can turn from black to brown, which is equivalent to hair malnutrition.

2. Animal experiments have observed that nutritional deficiencies, including long-term lack of protein, vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, folic acid, pantothenic acid, or lack of trace elements such as copper and zinc, can cause mouse hair to turn white and human hair to become thinner, drier, and less pigmented.

3. Hair color is related to genetics and can be explained by checking the trace elements in the hair. The hair of Asians is black and contains trace amounts of copper and iron; the hair of Indians is reddish brown and contains copper and cobalt. The formation of red hair is related to "hair iron pigment" which is formed by protein, iron and chromophores different from melanin.
