Do you know how many acupuncture points there are in the human body?

Acupoints are generally used in traditional Chinese medicine treatment and some massages. Correct use of acupoints can be of great help to the body. However, if you don’t understand acupoints, don’t press them blindly, because some acupoints are not good. There are a total of 830 standard acupuncture points in the human body.

The current national standard for acupuncture points shows: there are 409 names of acupuncture points and 830 acupuncture points around the human body, including 60 single acupuncture points and 770 multi-acupuncture points.

Among the 409 acupoint names, 349 have multiple acupoints, totaling 770 acupoints; and 60 have single acupoints, totaling 60 acupoints. A total of 830 acupuncture points are displayed on the whole body.

The standard acupoints are displayed as follows: 618 acupoints on both sides of the twelve main meridians, 52 Ren and Du acupoints, and 160 extra meridian acupoints, for a total of 830 acupoints, excluding reflex areas.

Acupoints are special places where qi and blood flow into and out of the internal organs and meridians of the human body. "Shu" is the same as "Shu", or can be simplified as "Yu". "Hole" means gap. The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine also calls it "joint", "meeting", "qi point", "qi palace", etc.; in the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Jia Yi Jing, it is called "hole"; in the Taiping Shenghui Fang, it is called "acupoint"; in the Bronze Man Acupoint Acupoint Illustrated Classic, it is generally called "acupoint"; and in the Shenjiu Jinglun, it is called "acupoint".

"Suwen. Qi Fu Lun" explains that acupoints are "where the pulse qi is emitted"; "Lingshu. Jiuzhen Shieryuan" says that they are "where the spirit qi roams in and out, not the skin, flesh, tendons and bones." This shows that acupoints are not isolated points on the body surface, but special parts that are closely connected with deep tissues and organs and communicate with each other. "Transmission" is bidirectional. From the inside to the outside, it reflects illness and pain; from the outside to the inside, it receives stimulation and prevents and treats disease. In this sense, acupoints are both the reaction points of diseases and the stimulation points of treatment.
