What is the cause of anal protrusion?

Anal protrusion is a problem in the anal area, and this symptom is common in clinical practice. Many people don't know what anal protrusion is. Generally speaking, anal protrusion is caused by anorectal diseases, and in another case it is related to anal abscess.

1. Anal abscess

In this case, anal abscess cannot be ruled out. Anal abscess is a lump and pustule growing on one side of the anus. If not treated in time, the abscess will rupture and pus and secretions will flow out. Sitting or standing for a long time, squatting in the toilet, and eating spicy and irritating food can cause it. It is recommended to do an anoscopy and take an X-ray to confirm the diagnosis to avoid missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis. Early anal abscess can be treated with local medication.

2. Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are a common type of anorectal disease and a common cause of anal protrusion. Hemorrhoids refer to the soft venous mass formed by the expansion and bending of the venous plexus under the mucosa of the terminal rectum and the skin of the anal canal. According to the location of occurrence, they can be divided into internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids and mixed hemorrhoids. Clinically, the main symptoms of hemorrhoids are blood in the stool, swelling in the anus, and prolapse. Different hemorrhoids have different symptoms and specific treatments, so it is important to determine the specific cause of the disease.

3. Other reasons

There are many reasons for anal protrusion, including hemorrhoids, anal papilloma, low rectal polyps, rectal prolapse and other anorectal diseases. It may also be caused by anal polyps or external hemorrhoids. If you have high-risk sexual behavior, you should consider the possibility of genital warts. It is recommended that you first keep your anus clean and hygienic. You can wash it with saline and then apply chloramphenicol ointment. If necessary, you can go to the dermatology department of the hospital for laser removal.

After prolapse of material occurs at the anus, the infection is mostly confined to the local area. If not treated properly, it can easily cause submucosal, perianal and other abscesses. Long-term prolapse will lead to pudendal nerve damage, anal incontinence, edema, stenosis, necrosis of the prolapsed intestinal segment and other adverse consequences. Avoid spicy food, eat more high-fiber food, and keep your bowels open.
