Can anthrax be cured

Can anthrax be cured

Anthrax is an acute infectious disease caused by Bacillus anthracis, so patients must be isolated and treated after contracting anthrax to prevent it from infecting others. There are also many types of anthrax, and different types of anthrax cause different symptoms to patients. However, if a patient develops anthrax, the skin on the body will become partially black. At this time, the patient's friends will be more worried. Can anthrax be completely cured?

(I) General and symptomatic treatment

Anthrax patients are strictly isolated and their secretions and excretions are disinfected. The specific disinfection method is based on the spore disinfection method. If necessary, intravenous fluid replacement should be given. If the anthrax patient is bleeding severely, appropriate blood transfusion should be given. If the patient has malignant edema of the skin, adrenal cortex hormones can be used to effectively control the worsening of local edema symptoms and alleviate the symptoms of toxic blood.

2. Local treatment

For local skin lesions in anthrax patients, part of the skin can be removed for specimens. Avoid squeezing or incision for drainage to prevent the spread of infection and the occurrence of sepsis. The local area can be washed with potassium permanganate solution, applied with tetracycline ointment, and bandaged with sterile gauze.

(III) Pathogen treatment

The first choice for the treatment of anthrax is penicillin. But if the patient is allergic to penicillin, other antibiotics can be chosen, such as ciprofloxacin, tetracycline, streptomycin, erythromycin and chloramphenicol. For cutaneous anthrax, adults give intramuscularly in divided doses daily.

(IV) Anti-anthrax serum treatment

This method is rarely used nowadays. If this method is used, the patient should first undergo a skin test. If the test passes, anti-anthrax serum should be injected intramuscularly or intravenously while treating with antibiotics for patients with severe toxemia.

Anthrax is still likely to be cured. In order to recover as soon as possible, it is recommended to receive selective and targeted treatment under the doctor's advice. Moreover, in order to effectively prevent the disease, experts recommend that people who frequently come into contact with meat pay attention to hygiene and stay away from sources of infection. This is the only way to fundamentally ensure that the disease does not happen to you.
