Cranial CTA

Cranial CTA

The brain is an important "commander" in the human body. If there is a problem with the brain, it will affect a person's overall condition. Therefore, when you find that there is a problem with the brain, you should go to the hospital for a brain examination in time. There are many ways to detect the brain, such as the common CT cranial Doppler. Mid-cranial CTA is also a brain detection method that has become increasingly mature in recent years. What diseases does mid-cranial CTA mainly detect?

1. What is a head CTA examination?

Cranial CTA examination is a type of cranial neurovascular imaging technology. If the patient's paraspinal artery is found to be thinner, it may be congenital, or it may be caused by the shadow of arteriosclerosis, or it may be caused by thrombosis. Therefore, a detailed analysis is required after the specific condition is examined. The head and neck CTA examination requires the use of contrast agents. After the operation, remember to drink water to promote excretion, as contrast agents are harmful to the kidneys. For patients caused by atherosclerosis, in addition to CTA examinations, cerebrovascular drug treatment should be actively used. Patients with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes should also actively cooperate with the doctor's drug treatment.

2. What should be paid attention to in head CTA examination?

Head CT is mainly used to check for diseases such as cerebral vascular rupture and bleeding, cerebral infarction, and intracranial mass, so brain CTA is also mainly used for emergency examinations. In addition, contrast agent needs to be injected in advance, so patients must strictly follow the doctor's contraindications and precautions before the examination. For those whose conditions are more serious and urgent, they need someone to accompany them. For irritable patients, intramuscular injection of Luminal may be used as appropriate. Moreover, the injection of contrast agent cannot be delayed and must be done quickly to ensure that the arteries are clearly displayed.

Although the radiation exposure of head CTA examination is more serious than that of ordinary X-ray examination, this is relative, not absolute. Generally speaking, one or two CT scans will not pose a threat to the brain. Some people are also concerned about whether this head examination technology will have an impact on our intelligence. In fact, please don’t worry too much about this issue. Cranial radiography will not have any negative impact on our body.
