How to clean leather clothes? It’s not difficult at all actually

Many people have the habit of wearing leather jackets, especially in winter. Leather jackets are very warm and look very handsome on men. But there is a problem. Leather jackets usually cannot be washed using traditional laundry methods. So how should they be washed?

Method 1: Wash with water

1. The dirt on leather clothes generally includes three types: sweat secretions, various oil stains and dust, and various pigment pollution. Before coloring, you should wipe it gently with a cloth dipped in alcohol and water. You can choose the cleaning agent: the first one, 95% alcohol and water, the ratio is 1:1; the second one can use toothpaste; the third one: wind oil essence; the fourth one: special leather cleaning agent. The last type of cleaner can target some of the more difficult dirt to remove. When cleaning, it should be cleaned thoroughly. Especially the particularly dirty areas such as the collar, cuffs, and sleeve bottoms should be treated with care and then covered with appropriate color.

2. After cleaning, the glossy leather jacket usually needs to be colored, which is professionally called "coating". It is a method of using pigments, resins and other leather-specific chemicals to make a coating slurry and apply it to the leather surface by brushing, wiping, spraying, etc. The method is to dip a brush or sponge in it and brush it directly on the leather surface. Brushing helps the slurry to fully penetrate and absorb into pores, corners and joints.

3. After coloring, the leather jacket needs to be treated to fix the color to prevent fading.

Method 2: Special cleaning method

Use a wet towel to repeatedly wipe the leather jacket clean and dry it. When drying it, you can also knock it with a bamboo stick to knock off some dirt. Go to the supermarket and buy a bottle of oil specially for leather clothes, and apply it. Another little trick is to scrub with banana peel, which will make the leather jacket look more shiny.

Also, if leather clothing is torn or damaged, it should be repaired promptly. If it is a small crack, you can apply some egg white on the crack and the crack will be glued together.

Method 3: Dry cleaning

Choose a dry cleaner to clean it. In fact, sometimes if the stain is too big, it is very troublesome to clean it yourself, and it is easy to make it worse. Therefore, the easiest way to clean leather clothes is dry cleaning. Sending the leather clothes to a special dry cleaner is not only convenient, but also worry-free.
