What to do if your hands are numb? Check and find the cause in time

Healthy people may also experience numbness in their hands from time to time, but if the numbness in the hands lasts for a long time, it should be taken seriously. There are many causes of numbness in the hands, some of which are poor peripheral circulation function, and some are diabetes. It is necessary to check and diagnose in time.

1. What causes numbness in the limbs?

There are many reasons for numbness, coldness, and pain in the limbs, the two most common ones are:

Peripheral circulation dysfunction

This situation is particularly obvious in winter, and even severe frostbite may occur.

Neurological disorders, one of the complications of diabetes

Diabetic complication neuropathy can also cause numbness, coldness and pain in the limbs. This disease usually first causes numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, and a feeling as if the feet are stepping on cotton pads. In severe cases, numbness and pain in the limbs will occur, especially at night and in cold seasons. This is due to the increase in sorbitol caused by diabetes.

2. Diagnosis of the cause of numbness in the limbs

The pain is worse when the foot is elevated and less severe when the foot is lowered. In severe cases, gangrene or ulcers may occur due to local heating, drug stimulation, etc.

2. Sequelae of stroke

Numbness in the limbs, accompanied by facial paralysis. The affected side has difficulty in limb movement, and may also have symptoms such as dizziness, headache, and difficulty speaking.

3. Bone hyperplasia

Numbness and pain in the limbs, mostly occurring in people over 40 years old, with segmental sensory disturbances, soreness, weakness and soreness on the affected side.
