TCM-assisted treatment of liver cancer

Adjuvant treatments for liver cancer include:

1. To protect the liver, various vitamins and glucuronosyl lactone (Gan Tai Le), glycyrrhizic acid diamine (Gan Lixin) and other drugs can be supplemented. If the prothrombin time is prolonged and there is a tendency to bleed, vitamin K can be used.

2. Supportive treatment: For those who eat little or cannot eat, hypertonic glucose can be used, and compound amino acids can be used as appropriate. If there is anemia or low serum albumin, blood, plasma or albumin should be appropriately transfused.

3. Symptomatic treatment

(1) Pain: Follow the three-step analgesia principle and administer the drug on time.

(2) Fever: ① Reduce fever symptomatically. ② Provide anti-infection treatment based on the cause.

(3) Ascites: For patients with cirrhosis, water and sodium intake should be restricted and diuretics should be used. For patients with hypoproteinemia, blood, plasma or albumin transfusions should be given, and ascites can be drained and medications can be injected.

(4) Hypoglycemia: Symptomatic administration of hypertonic glucose by oral or intravenous drip.
