The outermost layer of human skin is the stratum corneum. The stratum corneum that falls off automatically and the dirt mixed with skin sweat will not be much. Washing this part every day can have a certain protective effect on the skin. If you bathe too frequently, the stratum corneum will be damaged and its function of protecting the skin will be lost. The moisture in the skin cells will evaporate more easily and the skin will become dry. According to traditional Chinese medicine, "dryness creates wind, and wind causes itching." "Wind" here refers to a cause of disease that wanders around in the body, causing itchy skin. Therefore, it is more appropriate to take a bath 2-3 times a week in winter.

If it is difficult for some people to change the habit of taking a bath every day, they should pay special attention to the bathing method.

1. The water temperature should be between 24 and 29 degrees Celsius. If the water temperature is too high, the oil on the skin surface will be more easily destroyed, the capillaries will dilate, the degree of skin dryness will be aggravated, causing damage to the skin. At the same time, it will also increase the burden on the heart.

Second, bathing time should not be too long. Take a 20-minute bath and a 3 to 5-minute shower, otherwise the skin surface will easily become dehydrated.

3. If your skin is not very oily, it is better to choose neutral bath gel and soap, but you don’t have to use it every day, just once every two or three days will be enough. Moreover, it should not stay on the body for too long and must be rinsed thoroughly, otherwise it will damage the skin.

Fourth, after taking a shower, apply moisturizer all over your body to lock in moisture on the skin surface and relieve dryness and itching.

5. Eat less beef, mutton, onions, garlic and other spicy foods, and drink less alcohol and smoke less.

In fact, as long as you are not very dirty, there is no need to take a bath every day. If you are in an environment that makes your body easy to get dirty for a long time, then it is okay to take a bath every day. Taking a bath every day is to keep the skin clean and replenish the skin with moisture, which can improve the phenomenon of dry skin. It is cold in winter, so there is no need to take a bath every day.
