How to use simple cupping

Cupping is often used to treat various physical ailments. The cupping method can indeed have a good therapeutic effect on many diseases. That’s why it is used by many people. When using the cupping method, you must strictly follow the correct method. Otherwise, it will not only fail to have a therapeutic effect, but may also affect your health. So how is cupping recommended to be used? Let’s talk about it below.

1. Cupping method

Key points of the flash fire method: Use tweezers to hold the alcohol cotton ball and light it, then circle it inside the can and then pull it out; quickly place the can over the area to be pulled out, and it will be sucked.

2. Application of cupping

(1) Cupping: After the cup is adsorbed on the body surface, it is suctioned and left in the treatment area, usually for 5 to 10 minutes. It is often used for wind-cold-dampness arthralgia, neck, shoulder, waist and leg pain.

(2) Apply linseed oil to the cupping jar. After the cup is sucked, hold the bottom of the cup with your hand and push and pull it up and down several times until the skin becomes flushed. It is used for large areas with thick muscles, such as the waist and back. It is mostly used for colds, coughs and other diseases.

(3) After the flash cup is pulled out, take it off immediately and repeat the process several times until the skin becomes flushed. It is mostly used for facial paralysis.

(4) Blood-pricking and cupping: First, use a plum blossom needle or a three-edged needle to tap or prick the local area to cause bleeding; then cupping is performed to cause 3 to 5 ml of bleeding inside the cup; this is often used to treat skin diseases such as acne.

3. Cupping precautions

(1) Operation taboos: When cupping, do not burn the cup mouth with fire, otherwise it will burn the skin; the cupping time should not exceed 20 minutes, otherwise it will damage the skin.

(2) Cupping is not recommended for areas with skin allergies, ulcers, edema, the heart, or large blood vessels. It is also not recommended for areas of the lumbar spine or lower abdomen of pregnant women.

You must be particularly careful and attentive when cupping. Since fire is used to burn the air, if the technique is not done skillfully, the person being cupped may get burned or scalded. So you have to be skilled in the technique. In addition, when cupping, be sure not to use it for too long, otherwise infection will easily occur.
