What is the cause of tension headache

Tension headaches are usually caused by excessive tension in the patient, especially for some children who are in school. Excessive study pressure will cause them to be overly nervous, which makes them prone to headaches. Moreover, the pressure of study is relatively high, so they will overuse their brains. At this time, they need to learn to relax their nerves. So what is the cause of tension headaches?

Tension headaches, also known as muscle contraction headaches, are relatively common. It is caused by persistent spasm and contraction of the frontalis, temporalis, occipital muscles and other head and neck muscles. There are many reasons for the persistent spasm and contraction of the head and neck muscles, but it is easy to occur when you are nervous, anxious, and irritable, so it is called tension headache. The headache is distending pain, tenderness, or tightness. The pain is mostly located in the forehead or temporal area, and occasionally limited to one side. If you often complain of neck discomfort in the occipital area, examination may reveal neck spasm, and no abnormalities were found in other examinations.

There are three common causes of tension headaches:

From a medical perspective, sustained contraction of the muscles in the head and neck can cause tension headaches. There are several reasons why the head and neck muscles contract:

① Excessive anxiety or depression, accompanied by mental tension, intense work and study pressure, and long-term mental work without relaxation.

②Caused by contraction and spasm of the ENT or neck muscles.

③It is caused by poor posture of the head, neck, shoulders and scapula when sitting or standing. Muscle contraction can cause reduced blood flow to this area, and local ischemia causes headache.

This disease is extremely common clinically, mostly affecting women, and most develop around the age of 30. Psychological treatment often produces good results.

The main causes of tension headaches include mental stress, emotional abnormalities and severe lack of sleep caused by heavy study and work pressure, which cause abnormal blood supply to the human body's cerebral blood vessels, causing cerebral vasospasm, and thus leading to headaches.

The range of pain is usually symmetrical, extending from the back of the head to the forehead. The headache lasts for about several hours. During the illness, the headache occurs every day. Usually, patients do not realize that the headache is related to mental tension, but after careful questioning, it is not difficult to find the direct relationship between the patient's tension and the headache.
