How to wash moldy clothes

I put the clothes in the closet without drying them, and when I took them out I found they were moldy. How to wash moldy clothes? The weather is humid in the summer. Clothes feel dry when you touch them, but they start to get damp when you put them in the closet. In addition, the closet is not ventilated, so the clothes have a musty smell when you take them out. Some of the serious problems even have black spots on them. My mother told me some methods to wash such clothes, and now I will tell you.

When there is mold on cotton clothes, you can choose to use mung bean sprouts to wash them. Put the mung bean sprouts on the moldy area, rub them until they are mashed, rub them hard and repeatedly, and then rinse them with clean water to remove the mold.

If there is mold on woolen clothes, it is best to expose the clothes to the sun, then take a towel dipped in clean water and wipe the moldy areas to remove the mold. Or you can use a brush to gently brush the moldy areas and it will fall off. If your woolen clothes are hairy, remember to rinse them repeatedly with a towel dipped in soapy water and then with clean water.

If synthetic clothes are moldy, you can wash them directly with soap. First, brush them with soapy water a few times, and then rinse them with clean water. Or you can add clean water to the washing basin, then add white vinegar or milk, and then soak the clothes in it. This can not only remove mildew, but also remove the musty smell on the clothes.

Soak the moldy clothes in rice washing water overnight to allow the remaining protein to absorb the mold. The next day, the color of the rice water became darker and a lot of the mold stains had been removed. For areas where mildew is still stubborn, you can apply some 5% alcohol solution, or scrub repeatedly with hot soapy water several times, and then just scrub as usual, and the mildew can be completely removed. Ah

If your clothes smell musty but you have to go out, then use a hair dryer, set it to the cold air setting, and blow it towards the clothes. This will also remove the musty smell, and the effect is excellent.

Above I introduced methods for washing moldy clothes made of different materials. First of all, you need to determine what fabric the clothes are made of. Different fabrics have different washing methods. Next time, it is best to let the clothes dry completely before putting them away. This way, such problems will not occur again, especially thick clothes in winter that don’t like to dry. It is best to take it out and dry it in the summer.
