Which kind of dentures is better?

Only by ensuring the health of our teeth can we better ensure the quality of our diet. Tooth loss and tooth decay are relatively common phenomena in our lives, which will seriously affect our daily diet. When necessary, we also need to wear dentures to ensure our daily diet, but there are many kinds of dentures. We must learn more about them before we can make a better choice. Let's find out which kind of dentures are better.

Which type of dentures is better?

There are four common methods of oral restoration:

1. Fixed denture restoration (fixed dentures); patients do not need to take them off or put them on by themselves, they are similar to real teeth and beautiful, which can be said to be the most ideal restoration method. But its biggest disadvantage is that it requires cutting more tooth tissue.

2. Removable denture restoration (removable dentures, full dentures, etc.); the advantage is that it has a wide range of applications, less grinding or damage to the tooth tissue of the remaining teeth, and is relatively inexpensive. Its disadvantages are that the base is large in size, the foreign body sensation is strong, which affects the appearance. It will also feel uncomfortable when worn for the first time, and the chewing function is also poor.

3. Implant denture restoration (dental implant); it is a bionic implant in the shape of an artificial tooth root made of pure titanium metal, which is implanted into the gums through surgery, and then a crown or bridge is repaired on it to restore the shape and function of the missing tooth. It has the advantages of fixed dentures and avoids the disadvantages of fixed dentures that require grinding of the abutment teeth.

4. Fixed-removable combined restoration: This restoration combines the advantages of fixed dentures such as stability, comfort, and compact size with the indications of removable dentures, but is relatively expensive.

Warm reminder: Generally speaking, if only a few teeth are missing and the adjacent teeth are healthy and stable, it is better to choose fixed dentures. If there are a large number of missing teeth or the periodontal tissues of the adjacent teeth are unhealthy, it is better to choose removable dentures. If all the teeth have fallen out, you can only use full dentures. If conditions are suitable, dental implants can be used for restoration. If there are a large number of missing teeth that cannot be directly restored with fixed dentures, but you hope that the fixity, functionality and aesthetics are better than those of general removable dentures, you can choose a fixed-removable combined restoration.

The above is an introduction to which type of dentures is better. After understanding, we know that although there are many types of dentures, everyone's oral conditions are different after all. We can go to a regular specialist hospital for treatment according to the damage and area of the teeth. In addition, we must pay attention to ensuring good oral hygiene in daily life.
