Sneezing and runny nose after running

Sneezing and runny nose after running

Many people find it strange. Isn't the purpose of running to exercise the body and make it stronger? Why do some people even have many adverse phenomena after running? Some people also have a runny nose. These symptoms are unacceptable to people. A runny nose itself is abnormal. People only have a runny nose when they have a cold or when they are crying. So why do you sneeze and have a runny nose after running?

In winter, cold air rushes into your nose and irritates your respiratory tract, which is unbearable for a while. This is a normal reaction and you can wear a mask later.

The essentials of running

Intensity control:

The key to control is to determine the most suitable exercise intensity, that is, the pace consumed. First understand the heart rate response of running, and then adjust the running speed accordingly. With repeated attempts, it will not be difficult to find the right speed.

The formula is: (220-age)-resting heart rate × 75% + resting heart rate

Example: Age 40, resting heart rate 80 beats per minute

Then (220-40) - 80 × 75% + 80 = 100 × 75%+80 = 155

That is, the most appropriate training heart rate for this person is 155 beats/minute

Inexperienced runners often run too fast at the beginning of a run, and their heart rate quickly exceeds their ideal heart rate, making the second half of the run very difficult.

Therefore, for those who have poor pace control, you can measure your heart rate reaction 5 minutes after starting to run, and then adjust your running speed. By practicing in this way, you will be able to control your pace very quickly. The ideal exercise heart rate for teenagers is between 150-180 beats per minute.

If you have a runny nose when running, it is possible that you have inhaled cold air into your nose. If you have inhaled cold air into your nose, you must keep yourself warm and drink a glass of warm water, which can help dispel the cold. If you have a cold, you will also have a runny nose when running. It is best to wear a mask when running in winter.
