What is the difference between yang deficiency and yin deficiency

Kidney deficiency has always been a disease that has troubled many friends, so why do we always talk about kidney yang deficiency and kidney yin deficiency? Many people do not understand the difference between them and what impact they will have on the body. Everyone has been busy with work and forgotten about their own health. As a result, weak kidneys will affect various organs and body functions. So what are the differences between yang deficiency and yin deficiency?

Kidney Yin: Kidney Yin is the embodiment of the function of kidney essence. All organs in the body rely on the nourishment of kidney Yin. It is the basis of human body's yin fluid, so it is also called "yuan yin". If the various organs of the human body lose the nourishment of kidney yin, they will become diseased. For example, if the liver loses nourishment, it will cause liver yin deficiency, liver yang hyperactivity, and even liver wind; if the heart loses nourishment, it will cause heart yin deficiency, heart fire hyperactivity, restlessness and insomnia; and the brain loses nourishment, it will cause dizziness and tinnitus.

Conversely, when the Yin fluid of each organ is severely deficient, it will also lead to kidney Yin deficiency. For example, if heat evil invades and burns the stomach and stomach Yin is insufficient, it will further damage kidney Yin, which is called "kidney Yin dryness." Because "Yin deficiency leads to Yang hyperactivity" and "Yin deficiency generates internal heat", kidney Yin deficiency often presents with hot flashes, red cheeks and tongue, dry mouth and throat, and weak pulse, etc. However, there is also deficiency without heat, which is called kidney essence deficiency.

Kidney Yang: Kidney Yang can promote the physiological activities of various organs in the human body. It is the foundation of the body's yang energy and is also called "yuan yang". Insufficient kidney yang will affect the physiological activities of various organs and cause pathology.

If the lung loses the support of kidney yang, symptoms such as shortness of breath and lack of air will appear, which is called the kidney's failure to absorb qi; if the spleen loses the promotion of kidney yang, symptoms such as early morning diarrhea and incomplete digestion of food will appear; if the heart loses the stimulation of kidney yang, symptoms of insufficient heart yang such as palpitations, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and blue lips and tongue will appear.

If the bladder loses the Qi of kidney Yang, urination will be difficult or incontinence or residual urine or enuresis will occur; if the absorption and distribution of body fluid loses the Qi of kidney Yang, edema will occur; if the Qi of the kidney itself is insufficient, impotence, spermatorrhea, soreness and weakness of the waist and spine will occur.

If the kidney yang is exhausted, dangerous symptoms such as pale complexion, cold limbs, oily cold sweat, and weak pulse will appear, which is called yang loss.

"Yang deficiency leads to Yin excess" and "Yang deficiency causes external cold." Kidney yang deficiency will inevitably produce cold symptoms, such as cold limbs, pale complexion, cold pain in the waist and spine, preference for hot drinks, clear and long urination, watery stools, pale tongue with white coating, etc. If the symptoms of deficiency and coldness are not obvious, it is generally called "kidney qi deficiency".

Kidney yang deficiency and kidney yin deficiency are both kidney deficiencies and are basically the same; the difference lies in whether there are obvious signs of cold.

What are the differences between yang deficiency and yin deficiency? In fact, it is very simple. Most of the time, yang deficiency and yin deficiency manifest as insufficient kidney qi. Patients will have symptoms such as uterine cold, impotence, premature ejaculation, spermatorrhea, gynecological diseases, and decreased body resistance. In terms of treatment, you can choose massage and physical therapy to achieve the purpose of recovery.
