Everyone knows that propolis is similar to honey. It is a pure natural food brewed by bees. Many people usually eat some propolis and honey. It has many benefits to the human body. It can not only moisturize the intestines and promote bowel movements, but also beautify the skin and treat diseases. However, when storing it, everyone has a doubt. How should propolis be stored? Propolis has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, so there is generally no need to worry about bacteria multiplying and deteriorating. However, propolis has a complex composition, and some volatile substances (such as terpenes) are sensitive to light and heat. Therefore, propolis products should be stored in a dark, cool place. Propolis is a safe food. People with normal physical conditions can take more than 2 grams of pure propolis per day, up to 3-5 grams, without any toxic side effects. Even for people with allergies, there will be no side effects if the daily dosage does not exceed 0.75 grams. However, any food or medicine has a certain dose-effect relationship. Taking too much is unnecessary, but taking too little will not achieve the desired effect. According to current clinical practice, the appropriate amount of purified propolis per person per day is 1-2 grams. If converted into flavonoid content, based on the average flavonoid content of 15% per gram of purified propolis, each person should consume 150-300 mg of flavonoids per day. If used for treating diseases, the dosage should be appropriately increased on this basis. Taking 25% propolis liquid as an example, 1-3 drops are appropriate for the first dose. If no allergic reaction occurs, increase the dosage. If used for health care, generally take 10-15 drops each time, twice a day; if used to treat common diseases, generally take 15-20 drops each time, 3 times a day; if used to treat cancer, it can be increased to 30-40 drops each time, twice a day. Children should take half the dose or less. When taking propolis, it is generally recommended to take it on an empty stomach, so that the nutrients in propolis can be more effectively absorbed. However, it is still irritating to the stomach. If you have a bad stomach, it is recommended not to take it on an empty stomach. Some patients with diabetes can choose to take it half an hour after a meal. |
