What are safe painkillers?

Many people often need to take some painkillers, especially if some people have some joint pain, stomach pain or headache. Painkillers are still very common. Sometimes they need to use painkillers when they are treated in the hospital, have surgery or other surgical methods, but they are harmful to the human body. So which painkillers are safer and more reliable?

Simple painkillers. Paracetamol is commonly used for general pain symptoms such as headache, muscle pain, bone and joint pain, etc. It is safe, has mild side effects, and will not cause stomach discomfort, but excessive intake can damage the liver. The recommended daily dosage for adults is no more than four grams.

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics. In addition to relieving pain, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics also have anti-inflammatory effects, but they often cause gastrointestinal discomfort. Depending on the situation, stomach medicine may be taken together. People with gastric ulcers, severe asthma, kidney disease, cardiovascular problems, and those taking blood-thinning pills are at greater risk of serious side effects and are not recommended to take such medicines. Commonly used anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs include: amoxicillin, erythromycin, tetracycline, norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, chloramphenicol, gentamicin, cefoperazone, ibuprofen, naproxen and aspirin, etc.

Narcotic pain medication. Analgesics with anesthetic effects, such as morphine and codeine, are very strong and are very effective for severe pain, postoperative pain, cancer pain, etc. Some patients refuse to use such drugs because they are worried about becoming dependent on them, but as long as they follow the doctor's instructions, such drugs can be quit without any uncomfortable withdrawal reactions. Therefore, hospitals are more cautious when using this type of painkillers to minimize drug dependence.

There are some anesthetics that can relieve pain, and they are very effective, especially for postoperative pain and the growth of diseases such as cancer. However, some people will develop a certain degree of dependence and become addicted when taking these drugs, so it is best to follow the doctor's instructions when taking them.
