The incidence of breast cancer in women who work night shifts all year round doubles

Research results from Queen's University in Canada show that women who work night shifts for more than 30 years have a two-fold increased risk of breast cancer. In fact, women who stay up late and work overtime for a long time not only increase the risk of breast cancer, but also increase the risk of the following diseases.

1. Dark circles.

Dark circles under the eyes and mental fatigue are just superficial symptoms caused by staying up late. Staying up late will make the body tired and unable to repair itself normally, and will cause the skin surface cells to not metabolize normally. The skin of the eyes is already very loose, and if you don’t get enough rest, the metabolism of the eye cells will be very poor. The cells will age quickly, while new cells will appear slowly. A large number of old cells will accumulate around the eyes, causing bags under the eyes.

2. Immune disorder.

The more terrifying harm of staying up late for a long time is the disorder of the body's immune system. If the immune disorder manifests itself in the kidneys, it will cause nephritis; if it manifests itself in the skin, it will cause lupus erythematosus; and if it manifests itself in the joints, it will cause rheumatoid arthritis.

3. Skin damage.

Generally speaking, the skin enters its night maintenance state between 10 pm to 2 am. If you stay up late for a long time, it will disrupt the normal circulation of the human endocrine and nervous systems. Nervous system disorders can cause skin problems such as dryness, poor elasticity, and lack of luster; while endocrine disorders can cause skin problems such as acne, blackheads, chloasma, and dark spots.

4. Decreased resistance.

Among the various damages that staying up late causes to the body, the most common is that it makes people often tired, lack of energy, and reduced body resistance. For people with weak immunity, respiratory diseases such as colds and digestive tract diseases such as gastrointestinal diseases will also come to them. This is mainly because staying up late disrupts a person's normal physiological cycle, the body's normal "response" system is damaged, and the resistance will decrease accordingly.

5. Decreased memory.

Normally, a person's sympathetic nerves should rest at night and be active during the day to support a person's work throughout the day. However, the sympathetic nerves of those who stay up late are excited at night. As the saying goes, "tension and relaxation", the sympathetic nerves are difficult to be fully excited during the daytime the next day after staying up late. In this way, people will feel listless, dizzy, have memory loss, poor concentration, slow reaction, forgetfulness, and suffer from dizziness, headaches and other problems during the day. Over time, problems such as neurasthenia and insomnia may occur.

6. Yin deficiency and excessive fire.

For those who stay up late, the body is working in overload, so functional disorders are prone to occur. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this is yin deficiency and excessive fire, which is often referred to as getting angry. In addition, people's lives are often irregular when they stay up late. Because they have to stay up late, some people will eat more at dinner, while others will eat a big meal when they are hungry when they stay up late. Therefore, people who stay up late often have gastrointestinal problems, such as indigestion.

7. Decreased vision.

The damage to the eyes caused by staying up late is not as simple as the appearance of "panda eyes". Overusing your eyes for a long time can cause eye pain, dryness, swelling, and even dry eye syndrome. In addition, eye muscle fatigue can also lead to temporary vision loss. Excessive fatigue caused by staying up late for a long time may also induce central retinitis, which can cause blurred vision, dark shadows in the center of the visual field, distorted, deformed, reduced vision, changes in vision color, and other problems leading to decreased vision. Generally speaking, this eye disease is more common in young and middle-aged men, and often occurs suddenly after staying up all night.

8. Cervical disease.

More than 20 gynecological experts conducted research and analysis based on the physical examination results of women who often stay up late and have a reversed day and night schedule. They found that about 40% of women suffer from various cervical diseases, some of which have already developed malignant lesions. Among them, white-collar women between the ages of 25 and 50 are more likely to work night shifts and stay up late than other female groups. In other words, this group is more likely to be attacked by cervical diseases. This is because long-term reversal of day and night will change the body's original biological clock, thereby causing a disorder in the body's life rhythm. This disorder will lead to a series of endocrine disorders, affecting the ovulation cycle, and may lead to dysmenorrhea and irregular menstruation. In severe cases, it may even induce endometrial cancer due to decreased body resistance and endocrine disorders. The scary thing is that for women who work night shifts, there may not be any conscious symptoms in the early stages of cervical disease. As the disease progresses, contact bleeding and increased vaginal discharge will gradually appear. The discharge may be light bloody or accompanied by a foul odor. In the late stages, there may be symptoms such as back and leg pain, lower abdominal pain, swelling of the lower limbs, difficulty in defecation and urination, hematuria, and bloody stools.

9. Increase the risk of heart disease.

It is not as easy as people think for people with disordered work and rest schedules to adjust their bodies. Not only will their temper become worse, but their risk of heart disease will also be higher. Especially for middle-aged and elderly women, staying up late for a long time will disrupt their biological clock. Therefore, if women continue to confuse right and wrong for a long time, their risk of heart disease will increase.
