What should you pay attention to when getting the DTP vaccine to prevent whooping cough?

Today's medicine is very advanced, and vaccines have been developed for many diseases. As soon as a child is born, he or she starts dealing with various vaccines, which can prevent the child from getting sick again. For example, newborn babies need to be vaccinated with diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus vaccine to prevent whooping cough. However, after vaccination, parents still need to pay more attention to their babies, because some babies may have some abnormal reactions. If serious, they need to seek medical attention in time.

Abnormal nervous system reactions

1. Neuritis: It usually occurs 5-7 days or two weeks after vaccination, or even longer, and is manifested by limb numbness, pain, weakened or disappeared tendon reflexes. In severe cases, symptoms such as muscle atrophy and paralysis may occur. Facial nerve paralysis and crooked corners of the mouth often occur.

2. Encephalopathy: It usually occurs within 3 days after vaccination, with symptoms such as convulsions, spasms, convulsions, coma or abnormal howling, but most patients can recover. Very few patients may have permanent damage, such as limb muscle atrophy and paralysis, mental retardation or epileptic seizures.

Anaphylactic shock

Within a few minutes or an hour after vaccination, a person may suddenly develop pale complexion, sweat profusely, have cold limbs, low blood pressure, dizziness, headache, difficulty breathing, or even fainting or cyanosis. If not treated in time, this may lead to death.

rash

It usually appears several hours or days after vaccination. The rash can have various forms, including urticaria, measles-like rash, scarlet fever-like rash, exudative papules, vesicular polymorphic rash, hemorrhagic rash or purpura. It can be systemic or localized, and the rash may be accompanied by symptoms such as fever and general discomfort. The treatment for rash is mainly anti-allergic, and hormone treatment can be used if necessary.

Because each baby's physique is different, there may be different rejection reactions after the vaccine is injected. Some symptoms can be left untreated, but some symptoms must be treated in time to avoid causing the baby's death. Therefore, you should pay more attention within one hour to one week after the vaccine is injected, and seek medical attention in time if you find any abnormalities.
